教師研修と指導支援
世界的な教師不足に対処しようと急ぐ中で、多くの教育者が準備不足やリソース不足のまま教室に入っています。このギャップを埋めるため、ルーム・トゥ・リードは教師、管理者、コーチ、地域住民のスキルを強化し、生徒の学習方法を改善しています。
In Vietnam, Room to Read launched a pilot program to support pre-primary learners who may face disadvantages when they enter formal schooling. The pilot focuses on young children from ethnic minority communities who speak mother tongue languages at home, training educators to help them develop foundational Vietnamese language skills before Grade 1, so they are prepared to learn in the language of instruction.
In Laos, Room to Read partnered with Luang Prabang Teacher Training College to introduce a course that prepares future teachers in effective library design and management practices; the course is expected to become a formal academic subject within the college’s education degree program.
Room to Read is among a select group of partners supporting the development of pre-service training materials for future educators in Cambodia. We are contributing expertise in library design and management, as well as life skills education, to help develop a course for teacher trainees. The course will be delivered at select teacher training colleges and is designed to equip primary grade educators with evidence-based instructional strategies to foster literacy engagement and effectively manage school libraries. By strengthening teaching practices before educators enter the classroom, Room to Read is helping build a stronger foundation for literacy instruction nationwide.
Room to Read is the only non-governmental organization invited to contribute to the revision of Bangladesh’s national teacher training curriculum. This opportunity enables the integration of evidence-based reading instruction and effective classroom library practices into the preparation of educators nationwide. Room to Read will also support the rollout of the revised curriculum by partnering with teacher training centers to deliver trainings, helping embed these practices within the national system.
Drawing on our distinct experience in life skills education and mentoring, Room to Read is serving as a key partner in Sri Lanka’s government-led initiative to strengthen Career Guidance & Counseling Centers across secondary schools nationwide. In 2025, we supported the training of 100 educators across five provinces, strengthening their capacity to deliver life skills education and mentorship to adolescents. A selection of educators from this initial cohort will join the Ministry of Education’s National Master Trainer program in 2026, contributing to educator capacity building across all nine provinces. Through this partnership model, Room to Read is helping to build a sustainable, government-led system to expand access to life skills and mentorship for adolescents nationwide.
